Very few gossip stories can equal the speculations and rumors of an affair that have surrounded Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan. Before Aishwarya tied the knot with Abhishek Bachchan, her alleged romance with Salman, her co-star from the hit film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, was the talk of the town. The rumors in the course of time became even more intense, with some stating the two secretly wed.
Did Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Really Get Married in Secret?
As per the grapevine late in the ’90s, Salman Khan rowed with his family and secretly tied the knot with Aishwarya Rai in a nikaah ceremony. One such even reported that it was done at a secluded bungalow in Lonavala with a Kazi from Mumbai to seal the deal.
Some even went on to claim that Ash converted to Islam for the wedding, and it was attended by only the closest of their friends.
A New York Honeymoon, Secretly?
As though a secret wedding was not news enough, rumors also began making the rounds that the couple had secretly honeymooned in New York.
But contrary to the rumors, reports further circulated that Salman and Aishwarya were photographed returning to Mumbai together.
However this was never confirmed by either of the stars themselves a fact that had fans left wondering their heads.
Aishwarya Rai Breaks Her Silence
The rumors finally reached a point where Aishwarya Rai decided to finally confront them herself.
In one such media interaction, the actress finally lost her patience over the speculation. “If it had taken place, wouldn’t the entire industry know about it?”, she said, referrring to how close-knit the Bollywood community is.
“I’ve not even had the time to spend with my family after my mom’s accident. I am not the kind of person who would hide something as important as marriage. If that would have happened I would have gone hoarse declaring my marriage to the public.
All this is just rubbish.”
And with that, Aishwarya had hammered the last nail in the coffin of her marriage rumors, and soon enough, things went sour with Salman.

New Rumors about Aishwarya and Abhishek’s Marriage Fast forward to the present, and Aishwarya Rai’s love life is yet again under the media scanner, this time for her marriage to Abhishek Bachchan.
The rumor mill went into an overdrive when she recently attended the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant with her daughter Aaradhya and not Abhishek.
As if that is not enough, Abhishek’s liking of the latest ‘Instagram’ post that was concerning divorce only added fuel to the fire.
But the fact is that nothing has been said by either Aishwarya or Abhishek before the people to stop the rumor, who are in the dark once again.
Evidently, in Bollywood, stories never die; they just take on a life of their own and leave one guessing at it all.
