Just days before the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) PG 2024, social media is ablaze with claims of a potential paper leak, sparking widespread concern among candidates and the broader public.
On August 7, a social media post by Dr. Dhruv Chauhan on X (formerly Twitter) set off alarm bells.
The post included screenshots from multiple Telegram groups where individuals were allegedly selling NEET PG exam papers.
These groups, with names such as “NEET-PG LEAKED MATERIALS” and boasting over 20,600 subscribers, purportedly offered to ‘book slots’ for prices as high as ₹75,000, with an initial deposit of ₹35,000.
Screenshots Raise Eyebrows
Dr. Chauhan’s post featured several conversations from these groups, including one where a user claimed that the leaked material would be available one day before the exam.
This has raised serious questions about the integrity of the upcoming examination, scheduled for August 11, 2024
In one message, a seller stated that the materials would be prepared just two hours before the exam to avoid detection, a claim that has been met with skepticism.
Public Reaction and Expert Opinions
The reaction on social media has been mixed. Some users, like Dr. Raj K Bhagat, expressed doubt about the veracity of the claims, pointing out logistical impracticalities. “It’s true that a paper can’t be prepared just two hours prior to the exam.
There needs to be a thorough check for mistakes and other factors,” he commented.
Others, like Dr. Yash Oza, warned of potential scams, suggesting that these groups might be preying on desperate candidates.
“Most probably these paper leak gangs will turn out to be a fraud, and students paying lakhs will end up with nothing,” he stated.
This sentiment was echoed by Gavin E. Rodrigues, who voiced concerns over the number of people seemingly falling for the alleged scam.
Context of Previous Leaks
This controversy comes on the heels of another potential breach.
Just 48 hours prior, the All FMGs Association (AFA) claimed that a confidential letter from the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) had been leaked.
This letter reportedly contained detailed information about the NEET PG exam, including shift timings and examination centers.
Official Silence and Rising Tensions
As of now, there has been no official response from NBEMS regarding these allegations.
The silence has only fueled further anxiety among candidates, who are already under immense pressure as the exam date approaches.
What’s Next?
With the NEET PG 2024 exam just around the corner, all eyes are on the authorities to address these serious allegations.
Whether the claims of a paper leak are true or just another scam remains to be seen. In the meantime, candidates are advised to remain vigilant and focus on their preparation.
