Patriots Mourn the Passing of Renowned Team Doctor Dr. Mark Price

The New England Patriots announced the passing of their team physician, Dr. Mark Price, after what was described as a long and courageous fight with cancer. Patriots owner Robert Kraft later released a statement with some very moving thoughts on Dr. Price, who he noted left an indelible mark after just more than one season with the team and whose impact seems to be as lasting in medicineобходима.

How Dr. Price became a physician was an extraordinary and encouraging journey. Born in 1952, he earned a Ph. D. in 2001 and an M.D. in 2003 from Harvard Medical School He was also a U.S. Navy Reserves captain and received the Bronze Star Medal for combat service during operations in Afghanistan, his dedication to service extending beyond medicine.

He spent 7 years working as an assistant medical director before eventually taking over the head role in 2022. He continued to be an integral part their wide medical team.

This was in addition to his work with the Patriots, as he served as a sports medicine orthopedic surgeon for Mass General Brigham Sports Medicine and an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at Harvard Medical School.

His impact extended much farther than the playing field, into thousands of lives that benefited from his medical work and the education that he supported.

The statement from the Patriots concluded with condolences to the family and loved ones of Dr. Price: “We extend our deepest sympathies to Dr. Price’s family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched and the lasting impact of his work.”
