Baldur’s Gate 3 is undeniably one of the most anticipated video games, especially among RPG fans.

It has been in early access for over three years, a substantial period for any game to be in early access.

However, considering the ambitious scope of the game, this extended development time is understandable.

Although I won’t delve into the details of the game itself, as it seems you are already well-informed about it, instead I’d like to focus on another aspect of its PC version: Baldur’s Gate 3 modding.

One of the biggest advantages PC players have over console players is the ability to use mods.

These modifications allow players to change virtually any aspect of the game and bypass restrictions imposed by developers.

This level of customization and creativity adds a whole new dimension to the games you play on your Gaming PC.

One such example of modding is -You can increase the number of companions in your party to any number you want meanwhile in BG3 you can only have 4 characters at a time.

We have already discussed How to Increase Baldur’s Gate 3 party size in one of our older posts.

So in short if you want to Mod Baldur’s Gate 3, this article is for you.

You don’t need to learn a whole lot of things if you want to Mod Baldur’s Gate 3.

You just have to follow three steps –

Now you need to Download Baldur’s Gate 3 mods.

There are many places on the internet but the most trusted secure place is Nexus mods.

Even in early access, this game has hundreds of different mods (which I assume will skyrocket after the official release of the game).

Just search Baldur’s Gate 3 Nexus mods.

Once you are on the Nexus mod website choose the mod that you want to install, hit the “Files” tab on the mod page, and then click on “manual download”.

If you haven’t logged in or signed up for a Nexus account it’ll ask you to login in your account.

Just log in there and proceed to download the mod file.

Step 3 – Install mod using BG3 mod manager

Once the file is downloaded simply extract that zip file. In the extracted folder you will find the file which will end with the “.pak” extension.

Copy that file and navigate to “%LocalAppData%\Larian Studios\Baldur’s Gate 3\Mods” and place that file there.

Now you have to run “BG3ModManager.exe” from the mod manager folder which we downloaded earlier.

Step 4 – Launch and reload your Game

Once you successfully installed the mod you need to launch the game using the Larion launcher.

While many mods start working on the moment when you start the game some of the mods do require reloading your save file.

Furthermore, there are some mods that will only work with new playthroughs instead of current ones.

Just read the mod description and you will know about the additional steps that you might need to follow.
