If you want you can also buy it with the help of Internet banking, if you have an account in ICICI, HDFC, State Bank, or any other nationalized bank.

Zerodha Kite users can buy Sovereign gold bonds easily using their Demat account.

Here is the process for it-

  2. Tap on the invest now buttons there.
  3. You’ll be redirected to the kite.Zerodha.Com login page.
  4. Log in using your Kite username, password, and pin.
  5. Now you’ll be able to see the latest issue of the Sovereign Gold Bonds Scheme, its last date, and more.

What is Sovereign Gold Bond Lock-In Period

Once the maturity period is over, an investor can redeem their bonds in Indian Rupees.

The redemption price will be simply the closing price of Gold. The payment will be sent to the investor’s account within 3 working days.

Both interest and redemption amounts will be credited to your bank account.

However, even the maturity period is 8 years investors are allowed early encashment after the fifth year from the date of issue.
