Under this scheme just like PM Jan Arogya Yojana, The part of Ayushman Bharat Yojana Government will provide health coverage of a maximum of 5 lakh rs to each eligible family.
This health insurance scheme not only covers the new medical emergency of the Applicants’ family but all of the pre-existing diseases are also covered as well from day one.
This is a health insurance scheme but the beneficiary doesn’t need to pay any premium for the coverage.
All of the premiums will be paid by the Government of West Bengal while the beneficiary has no need to pay any kind of money.
To make this scheme more user-friendly WB government also launched the Swasthya Sathi App.

The person Who is eligible for the swasthya sathi scheme must be a citizen of West Bengal and should fulfill the following criteria’s-
- The Applicant must not be already beneficiary of any other Similar government-provided health care scheme.
- Applicants must be below the poverty line. To ensure they must have the ration card.
- The Swasthya Sathi Smart card that will be offered under this scheme will be provided to the female member of the family.
- An applicant who applied for this scheme must be a permanent resident of West Bengal. He/she should have proper documents for proof of residence.

Swasthya Sathi scheme for teachers has the upper limit of Rs 1.5 lakh and 5 lakh for the critical illness.
These terms will not only apply to the teachers but the Department employees such as Workers and volunteers, Sanitary workers, and the workers who are engaged in the WB urban employment scheme.
This will include teachers like Para Teachers, Siksha Bandhu, Special Educators, Contractual staff of Sarba Siksha Mission including Circle level Resource Centre, Teachers and non-teaching employees of Primary and Secondary Schools.

The total coverage that this scheme will provide per family is 5,00,000 Rupees.
